I am a Platonic Touch Practitioner, and I can help you understand touch, boundaries, and consent in a way that most people do not consider.

I remember when I first started out as a Professional Cuddler in 2016. I had no training. I had no support system. I was still in the proverbial cuddle closet, meaning that nobody knew I was cuddling besides my partner and BFF. I was living in shame. I did not have colleagues talk about the unique work we shared. I did not have training or any education in the world of a touch practitioner.

Always a student, I educated myself. I read academic papers and articles that focused on touch. I talked to psychology professors at different universities. I contacted Dr. Tiffany Field of the Touch Research Institute at the University of Miami School of Medicine in the hope she could help me better understand platonic touch.

Not until 2018, when I flew to southern California to take Cuddle Sanctuary’s Certified Professional Cuddler training did I find support and like-minded individuals who understood the work and had thriving practices. I found my tribe. I learned the anatomy of a session, I learned different types of nurturing positions. I learned the two models of consent! I engaged in an open discussion about best practices and loved every moment of it. I vowed one day to create in-person training for the east coast somatic arts practitioners.

As my practice grew, I developed my skills, I educated myself around neuroscience, psychology of touch, and strategies to best support my clients. I learned…

Certified Platonic Touch Practitioner Course

This unique hybrid of live virtual classes and in-person training is designed for practitioners, bodyworkers, and healers wanting to explore a platonic touch approach to their existing practice.

You will learn, through self-exploration, what it means to give touch, receive touch, and how it makes you feel energetically and emotionally. Through self-reflection of what touch means to you, you can then help others understand what touch means to them.

When you create a trusted and respectful relationship with your clients, they can feel safe enough to be vulnerable and confidently ask for what they want. From there starts the healing process through exploration.

  • 20 modules in Phase 1 will help you understand the science of touch, how to conduct a platonic touch session safely and effectively, clarity around boundaries, consent, and holding space, how to show up for yourself and your clients, conceptualize and understand your personal history of touch.

  • Here you will find 14 modules to assist you in gaining clarity on your vision and goals. We will cover topics such as formulas for setting fees, record keeping, tracking hours and expenses, setting up an office, automation, marketing, branding, collaborations, and community connections, as well as other opportunities.

  • These 4 modules will all be taught in person with the cohort of students. Here you will get the opportunity to put what you have learned over the past few weeks and apply it to practical situations. You will experience the comradery of learning and connecting with each other. We will practice seeing clients and networking.
